Is it possible to have oxidized red wine to the extent it's non-drinkable but still has excellent color?

How does one confirm oxidation in reds when you don't have experience with the taste?

Oxidized reds can have a brickish color. Red with sort of a brown base, like a brick. This color might be more associated with a too old wine, more than a young wine. In an oxidized young wine, the color should be darker than normal.

Oxidized wine sometimes has a raisin taste. Leave a glass of similar wine out on the cabinet for a day and taste it and check its color. That should tell you.
