After harvesting Concord grapes from my parents vine, yes one single plant at least 25 years old, I just bottled my first "fresh" grape wine.

I had 21 lbs, more went to jelly, of grapes and got around just shy of 3 gallons of juice out of it. I did a simple dry recipe but when it took it off the skins, I split into 3 different gallon jugs.

One was plain, dry. Very tasty
Another was blended with a strawberry juice (from frozen strawberries). Outstanding!
And the last I added a handful of light oak chips. It's the best yet!!

I have a total of 13 bottles now sitting and collecting dust to age. Cant wait!! Already planning next years harvest.

This is how it starts. Next you won't be able to move around in your basement due to all the carboys. A good problem to have.
