Got a 5 gallons of cherry juice, looking at adding some body. I have read to add raisins for this purpose. But I have seen that posted for a grape based wine. Was thinking about using dried cherries in this? Anyone have tried this or any thoughts. Was also contemplating adding about 2 oz of medium toasted French oak powder to primary. I have read that will give more if a vanilla flavor instead if an oak. Any thoughts?

I dont think you would do wrong by adding dried cherries to it. Just be ready for fermentation to kick back up due to the sugars. You could also try giving it some oak or tannnis.

Thanks figure one new thing per batch till I figure it out. 2 oz seem about right for oak?
