It was time to harvest my Moores Diamond grapes.
Hundreds of bees, not little honey bees but larger bumble type bees, where waiting for me. They were very intimidating!!
I managed to harvest 140# with out being stung once.
Today I will process them and crush them with my home made grape crusher and into my 20 gal. Rubbermaid Brute trash can they go.
This will be the third batch of wine that I started this summer.
All the grapes come from my little vineyard.

Bumble bees rarely sting. Last year I had a nest of them right inside where my basement door meets the house as their is a void there but I let them stay as they dont bother me or anyone unlike most other bees. They are the only bee that I would swat after if it got too close to my comfort zone.

My right ankle and 5 bumble bees had an encounter a few years back. It wasn't very pleasant, either. :d
