Anyone backsweeten their Dragonblood with berry concentrate and sugar? I was thinking of warming them on the stove together, cooling that and then using it to backsweeten. I was thinking it might impart more berry flavor?

Thanks,
Jules

Berry concentrate AND sugar? Unless you like a wine-cooler type drink I wouldn't do that.

I have backsweetened a white grape peach sp with concentrate. It did give it a stronger taste of the concentrate so I will not do that again. I use wine calc to determine how many grams of sugar I need.

I make an Apple/Raspberry Dragon Blood using Old Orchard Apple Raspberry concentrate in the primary (along with the triple berry fruit) and then back sweeten in the end with the same. I up the starting S.G. to compensate for the dilution. It turns out pretty good to me.

Thanks for the replies. I do like a sweeter wine. Maybe I will try just a bit of the concentrate in part of the batch.

Jules
