deboard, I have found the easiest way is to just manhandle it. I take the bag out of the box and lay it on my counter. I twist the bag just beneath the opening and then pry off the cap. With it still twisted, I place the opening in the fermenter and gradually release the twist. I am able to empty the bag with no splash or mess. Works pretty well for me.

That is a good idea, I didn't read this before I attempted it though. Overall it worked out well though. I ended up using scissors to widen one of the hand holds on the side of the box. Then I worked the nozzle into it and made sure it was tight. Then I turned the box on it's end (so the nozzle was up), and removed the cap. Manhandled the box and poured it into the fermenter. Didn't spill any, but it was a tense few moments.
