I would like to add more oakiness to my kits but I'm not sure how much, when, or what I should add. Any advice would be appreciated.

Start slow
Use less Soak longer
You can always add more

Add during aging. Adding more oak in primary won't add any oak taste. I think it's about 6 weeks to get all the "oakiness" out of the oak you put in. So add a medium toast America oak spiral during bulk aging. In a couple months when you rack if it's still not enough then add another, tasting along the way.
