    Just got a cheese making kit. It says everything must be sterilized. Really? That’s a lot of stuff to boil My beer and wine only requires sanitation. It looks like I’ll hafta break out my keggle and boil 20 gal of water just to sterilize all my equipment. Don’t think that’s gonna happen

    Haven’t done a kit in a while. But this one came with 2 pkg of yeast, k1-1116 and EC-1118. While i have used both of them , I’ve never used them together Should i pick one or just use both?

    I’m not into the sweet wine either but back sweet to about 1.06 or so and you’ll be surprised the flavor burst. But, it is only welches.

    Thanx, bottling before the move sounds like the right way. I'll vacuum rack now and bottle with neocorks I've got lots of milk crates to protect my carboys

    Moving 2500 miles early fall. Going to rack, sulfite now and bottle just before the move. Will have 3 carboys too early to bottle??

    A little late here but, I make cranberry wine often and Montrachet is the only yeast that works for me

    Berries are in the freezer now. Will start my skeeter pee tomorrow, I use 30 oz of lime juice and about 10# of cranberries Cranberry wine will come a little later. Not sure about a food processor for 40#. Sounds like a mess:). I'll have to make sure the wife is gone for the day. Lol

    I use lime with my cranberries. It's a big hit! The cranberries do take a while to macerate. I use 10+ # of berries and 30oz of lime juice.. Same recipe, you'll love it

    My take on Mango Wine

    I didn't use pulp, just fresh mangos.. Either way you'll get Lots of lees. I made a "mango extract" w/ mangos and Everclear To bump up the flavor. Not bad . One of my first wines. I did sorbate and back sweeten to 1.008

    I've tried capping champagne bottles, and couldn't find any that would accept a beer cap.. But beer bottles Do work and since it's 12 oz. it would stay nice and cold during your outing

    Last fall I harvested a ton of grapes, one demijohns went through MLF and it does taste smoother than the other but both are still very light in body. I will be bulk aging for at least 8 more months what can help this 'lite' wine or should I wait till this fall and blend

    My blueberry "skeeter pee" just replace the type of berries. It's not bad at all. Now blueberry wine is different, I'm still aging mine but it's looking good. Not sure if I'll even bottle it till this years harvest

    They are one an the same. At least the contact phone # is the same as the kits I received from Amazon.. One Paklab and one Vino Italiano. And they both turned out pretty good Sent from my iPad using Wine Making Looking to do a stags leap merlot or barossa valley Shiraz . Any input on these kits?
