    I pitched the MLF last night along with Opti-Malo. When I did there was an instant reaction. Lots of bubbles similar to opening a shaken soda. Is this normal? It lasted for just a minute and then went away. Sent from my iPhone using Wine Making

    I started a package of VP 41 tonight. It says it is good for up to 50 gallons. I only have 8 gallons of wine to inoculate. Should I only add the portion that would be for 8 gallons or is it alright to pitch all of it? Sent from my iPhone using Wine Making

    Rocky's Zinfandel from grapes!

    Rocky - I have a question for you. These appear to still have quite a bit of juice in them. Could I do the same thing with the remains from the press? My wine club has a little more than a ton of Cabernet grapes coming in from Washington and I will have access after the press.

    Degassing with brake bleeder

    I just purchased a brake bleeder to use to degas my wines. Can anyone tell me just how long the process takes? I hooked everything up earlier today and have pulled a vac um up to around 17lbs three times today. I am still getting bubbles. How much longer?
