You know its wine making season when...

...You buy a jug of wine from the liquor store and have friends over to drink it just so you have another glass Carboy fermenter for tomorrow.

Anyone else have another "you know it's wine making season when..."???

... You stay up till 4-5am reading about the best way to handle the grapes you're getting your hands on in a couple weeks..

Then when you finally make it to sleep, you wake up a few short hours later in a cold sweat, wondering if its raining outside...

And when you finally force yourself back to sleep, you dream of stomping grapes in a line holding the shoulders of a bunch of dark-haired, dark-eyed, hairy legged old men

Finally at noon, when the sun wont let you sleep any longer because its finally "Beam me up Scotty" bright thru the windows, and you pull your head off the pillow, and the pages you were reading last night are still up on the computer screen cause you were too tired to turn it off....

Yep, its winemaking season..

... When work gets in the way of fermenting juice in the basement.

... When the wife is mad at you for researching, talking, thinking, zoning out about the bubbling

...when the fruit flies are everywhere, including the airlocks.

...when you open the cellar door and are knocked over by the CO2.

...when friends suddenly remember that you have been asking for empty bottles.
