I meant brunello itialiana. At a buck 169 I'm leaning more towards the Verdot. I know this is asking people ford or Chevy but what the heck! Looks like the Verdot will mature quicker. My wife a I like full body reds.

Another question do white mature quicker, we also like a good dry cab.

I would suggest that you do both and report back on which you prefer :p

If you are talking about kit wines, I have made the WineXpert Brunello but not any Petit Verdot. The Brunello, being from a kit, comes out fairly thin, as any red from kit and without a grape pack will do. Mine is about 3 years old now. It tastes OK, but is water-thin. If the Brunello kit now comes with a grape pack, you will be a little better off.

If you have an oak barrel in which to concentrate it, it will come out much, much better.

In most cases, whites will mature much faster than reds.

I've dome both a few times. Both come with grape pack now. Petit Verdot peaks much earlier, several months to two years. Brunello is good at18 months and goes up up up from there for years.
