Has anyone ever made the WE Selection Estate Marlborough savignon blanc? Ienjoyed a bottle of the Wither Hills savignon blanc from the same regionand am interested in making my own.

I have not made the kit yet, but do have it on the way. I talked
with George and he told me how really good this wine is, so I got one
to try. I could agree with you more that S/B from marlborough is
so good and I like Red wine more.

Good to hear. I'm a red rinker as well, and was able to try the s/b at a tasting and really enjoyed it. Keep me posted as to how it turns out. Edited by: JD25

JD....I sure will....I just orded it last week and will start it as soon as I get it. My primary is sitting empty.

I also have a friend that I buy from that gives me price at
cost. So I just got 2 cases of Kim Crawford 06 for $11 a
bottle. George told me this Kit is close to that of Kim Crawford

I haven't made that kit but every Wine Expert Selection Estate Series kit I have made has been fantastic. IMHO, these are the best kits Wine Expert produces.

Wow...got this one into the primary today. Damn it smelled good. I am looking forward to this one alot.

Started mine Sunday morning...can't wait. I'll keep you posted as to the progress.

Wow...just tasted this last night, I just racked the second time and
it's as clear as a window. Wow I am in love with this one.
So much fruit with no heat at all. I think I will be ordering
another one from George. The way my wife drinks white wine I will
need another soon.

Just got done bottleing this wine and all I can say is wow. There
was a half bottle left over and my wife and I are in love with
it. I know it's young, but It's almost as good as Kim Crawford.

Sorry thats my bottles and label. They came out good I
think. I do have a question ! My wine taste good, but has a
smell to it. This wine is young (One month) but it smells of
yeast or something like that. Is this normal? It is really
good except for the smell.

MHarris,

That's very normal. Very young wines have what I think of as a vegetal nose. It will be gone in a couple of months as the complex reactions that take place in wine progress. If you want to drink some now (the temptation is overpowering for most of us

), decant the bottle and let it sit in an open decanter for half an hour.

My wife and I really enjoy that kit and I hear a lot of favorable comparisons to Kim Crawford.

Peter thats good to hear that it will pass. I am ok with letting
them sit for a few months but my wife loves this wine now even with the
smell. I guess I will have to get my baseball bat out to keep her
away.

George- I am so glad I called you and asked about this wine. We
both love it and I will be ordering more from you next month. Thanks
