tannin

I bought and not sure why a jar of tannin, does any of you ever find a need to add to your wine? is there a test to tell if you need to?

What tannin did you get? If its a very good 1 like Scott labs VR or VRSupra or one of the TanCors then they can really improve just about ant wine. If Im making a fruit wine then Ill usually throw in some of the standard powdered tannins to improve body as fruit wines usually lack the structure and body due to very little tannins. These tannins also help keep the shelflife up for these wines.
