I've seen a little discussion of SWD (spotted wing drosophila) in a few threads but not too much focused on it directly.
Our vines are in their third year and we are getting our first harvest this year and I have noticed SWD on some of the ripening berries. I sprayed with Sevin (new formula with zeta cypermethrin) a this is the same active ingredient as Mustang Max which I have heard used for SWD in the past. Sevin lists a PHI of 1 for this formula on grapes.
What do other people's strategies for dealing with SWD look like? My actions here were reactive after damage had already occurred, I would like to get out in front of this a bit more next year. Do I need (or should I) add another insecticide to the rotation as well?
