Skunky Smell

I have one 3 gallon batch of apple wine 10% abv(from concentrate)
one gallon batch of the same


one batch of cranberry 18% abv from concentrate.


They both smell skunky. I used lalvin EC-118


Any ideas, can this be corrected?

Wow that will wake you up!

Might be easier to figure out if you gave us your recipe. Could be as simple as a need to splash rack aggressively a few times.

How far along are these in the fermenting/aging process? When wasK-Meta added? I have had a skunky smell and taste before in a kit wine but it was due to bulk aging for 4 1/2 months without adding additional K-Meta. According to George I had a non-correctable bacteria problem but hopefully that isn't your problem here.
