I've been making wine since Jan 2012 and was wondering if my yard is big enough to plant two to four Cabernet vines in my back yard. I did some research and know that Cabernet vines are zoned for Pennsylvania. My back year is very small and the area space for planting is about 15' x 4'. I had decided to forget about planting but my son in law told me that his grandfather planted vines in his back yard and he doesn't have that much planting space.

So my question is should I attempt to move forward with purchasing and planting these vines or should I forget and stick to buying concentrate and grape juice.

I would do both. That is continue to make kits and plant a few vines. I would plant Marquette or something like that since they are easier to care for and all the Cabernet from the east is terrible. JMHO.
