sassafras

has anyone made a sassafras wine and if so dose it taste even slightly drinkable. I make a few gallons most years of sassafras tea, not as good as a black tea/orange polnoke blend tea but is drinkable as a ice cold sweet tea, but id love some informed opinions on a sassafras wine, I have lots of small sassafras trees and several big tree but them I wont touch, just the small ones, rhubarb is a root yes/????. I ask because to make sassafras tea you only use the roots, the rest of the tree you can mx 3/8's hickory and 3/8's white oak ad 1/4th sassafras wood in a off set stick smoker and get some extremely good smoked pork, any info or recipes would be greatly appreciated, an I
