Rack when Malolatic is finished?

Do I need to rack the wine immediately after Malolatic fermentation seems to have stopped? Is it similar to racking off the primary yeast to prevent bad flavors?
Or can it sit as is?
 
Ditto to what CM said.

After my first full racking (in mid October to remove the gross lees) I kick off MLF which can take 2 to 3 weeks. I then rack again in mid November.
