Punching the Must With a Paint Stirrer

I usually stir the brew for the first week. Wonder if using a paint stirrer in a drill is ok? Will it increase the O2 and help the yeast? Or is it a bad idea?

For wine stra from grapes, I use a rake, some use a a canoe paddle, whatever. I don't use something to significantly stir it, just get whatever air into that a stir does.

Stirring can be done with anything as long as it's clean and sanitized. If using an implement not marketed for wine making, buy a new one and dedicate it for just wine stirring.

I use a drill mounted stirring rod, and it works great.
