Hi, i have a chance this weekend to try my had first time at using actual grapes. The vinyard has quiet a few different varites, most i havent heard of before.
I was wondering if anyone had any experiance with any of these or what would be good to blend with another? Im looking to make a dry to semi sweet big red....or port. Any help would be greatly apperciated.

DeChaunac Chambourcin Cabernet Franc Norton Petit Verdot Isabella

Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot are good in a blend with the Cabernet Franc dominate.

Norton on its won and Chambourcin on it own , either will make a good dry or semi sweet big red. Norton ports are very good.

All excellent grapes. I n addition to what Sal said Isabella is a great semi sweet wine and often blended with blackberry but I prefer it alone.
