Noob here...meat grinder ok?

Hello to all. I am a noob to this and have 2 five gal buckets of free pears. Plan to make wine and was wondering if anyone here has tried a handcrank meat grinder ( feeding cored slices) for the primary. I am generally following Jack Keller's receipe.

Should work fine. Probably not necessary, tho. Freeze em for a couple of days, let em thaw out and smash em. That be the lazy way to do it. Arne.
