I made my first batch of Wine, it was Welch's Grape Wine, Like some others I cut back on the sugar, I also used Bread yeast, It turned out pretty good but was a little Tart,

Now I want to try a White Wine with Welch's Niagara Grape Juice, But I have a couple of questions about the yeast I need to use,

I had did some reading somewhere and of course can't find it now, that told which yeast to use for Red Wine, and which to use for White Wine

Also do I need Yeast Nutrient ?

Thanks

For something like Welch's Grape wine, red or white, EC-1118 is a good choice. For a wine like that, the yeast's characteristics is not going to make any difference, other than that EC-1118 is a very heavy duty yeast that seldom ever fails.

For making non-kit wines, you should always use a nutrient.

Please, don't use bread yeast to make wine...

either red star are lalvin yeast..if you search online you can find one that will give you the kind of wine you want, different yeast will give you different finished wine.
always use yeast nutrient....are yeast energizer, are both.
alternative to yeast nutrient is grape nuts soaked in water.
