Hello there!

I think I started a little backwards- making fruit wines first and now thinking about kits!

Started making wine last year because our sour cherry trees were overachieving, and there's only so much pie and jam you can make! I picked up some used equipment and then friends and family gave us more, so capacity is increasing! The first couple of batches were dubious (cherry on lees too long, then over spiced rhubarb) but quality has been getting better.

This seems like a great resource and I'm looking forward to many more good batches! Focusing mostly on fruit wines (sour cherry, rhubarb, and Concord grape, all from my garden) and mead. I have done one batch of mead, but ended up with a stuck fermentation that then reactivated upon bottling, which was exciting! Sort of salvaged a sparkling meadish thing but learned some lessons and hopefully the next attempt will be better.

Looking forward to learning more about this hobby!
