WineXpert Help with Specific Gravity?!?!?!

I just bottled the Blackberry Cabernet Island Mist wine. I did my specific gravity readings at the beginning and the end of my process. The first reading was 1.051 and the final was 1.16


So what is my alcohol content???

BSG -FSG x 131 = 1.051 -1.016 = 0.035 x 131=4.585 so around 5% eduk8or. Are you sure about your readings, that sure seems awfully low.

according to those numbers the ending SG is higher than the starting. ? Did you sweeten the finished wine?

The ending SG is high because of the addition of the F-Pack so I am sure you could use 0.995 as the true ending SG (based on the many IM kits I have made)


1.051-0.995 = 0.056 x 131 = 7.336 so 7% ABV which is typical for this kit.
