Been looking at and for a 'press' to use on grapes and apples and I think that I found on that will work. There are a lot of presses on the market and some very expensive. But, they can be made too.
Here is one that I'm going to make:

You can check out the whole thing at www.whizbangcider.com. The only modification I'm going to make will be using a bottle jack and will build-in a set of return springs to raise the jack when released. Check out this website and you can see the 'press plate' and 'juice tray' and everything.
He also has a pretty cool 'grinder' for the apples as well.

I have already had the 'hoops' made. I am using 1 1/2" X 1/8" steel. I had a 10' piece cut into 5's and then rolled. In using the 'famous pieR squared' formula this calculates to approx 18.8" in diameter. (PSSST: I think that this is the first time I have ever used this formula 3.1416 since
school and that was a lonnnnnng time ago).

This was primarily made for apples but I cannot see why this would not work for grapes as well. And other fruit too.

Anyway, I'll post pictures as I go.

There are some other great ideas for equipment that winemakers can make themselves and here is that link:

I just might make his rinser also. He makes lots of fun stuff.

Have a good day all

He has a video now of using a bunch of the homemade tools in bottling- even a label applicator.
