Sorry, I have not tried this but just started a Grand Cru Barolo today. Was yours a 10 litre kit or more?

Yes it is a 10 litre kit.......supposed to have a cranberry and cherry flavour.

Oak? Mine had a tea bag looking package that had to soak in warm water for ten min.

same here Wade...soak then put solution and bag in primary

Hope these are good. I heard somewhere else that they are descent though!
