Grafted or own root? That is the question.

I planted my first 12 vines last year as own root. They seem to have done ok. I am planning on planting 54 more this year. While at a locale winery doing a tasting I was talking with the owner. He suggested that I would be better off going with the grafted plants next time. What is the big difference and is it really worth it?

Need to know your location.
What variety or varieties?
What are the coldest temps?
Soil type?
Drainage?
Nematodes?
Phylloxera?

These and a lot more can all be influenced and have an influence by the variety and root stock.
