Currants are getting ripe!!!

Just got a call from a buddy of mine and his black currants are starting to ripen. He picked a quart or so and is trying to stay ahead of the birds. I'll have enough for 3 gallons of wine and a bunch of jelly. He also has a few red currant bushes.

How many currants does it take per gallon using the fresh currants Pete? Do you have a lot of them growing?

Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. It takes 3 lbs per gallon. My buddy has 2 black current and 3 red growing and many small saplings that he is going to give to me.
