I posted in the Bzak kit tweaking sticky but didn't realize until now that it was a sticky and not a post.
I am wondering if you think it would add any benefit by cold soaking a cellar craft showcase kit with one of the big grape packs in it.
I have a old vines zin on deck and my plan would be to mix to the total volume without the bentonite. Add the grape pack directly to the must. Then I would leave it outside for a few days (as it's 5 degrees) stirring must daily. Then bringing it back inside to warm up. As warming add Bentonite, then when up to room temp I would add yeast and start as usual.
Any one see any value to giving this a shot or will I be tying up my primary for not much or any real gain.
Just wondered if anyone has tried this or can share any insight on the theory
