Thanks. I’m writing the formula and conversion down in my wine book. It just doesn’t seem right to go from a concentration to a percentage and not move two decimal points.

If it helps, g/L is not a concentration. It is (essentially) a per mille, that is, per thousand. (Instead of per cent, or per hundred.) It has a symbol: ‰. So it may be easier to remember that 10‰ is 1%. Note also that you are moving the decimal point the other way compared to going from a fraction to a percent.
