The brand yeast nutrient you have should have the recommended amount to use on it. I make bigger batches, but generally about a tablespoon should work wonders. Add it at the beggining of fermentation. If you begin to smell anything odd, add another tablespoon, but I wouldn't add more than that. It should be all that is needed.
