With the kids visiting for Christmas, I decided to enlist their help with my wine chores. We bottled a 3-gal batch of RJ Spagnols Orange Blossom Muscat (pics under that post title) and a 6-gal batch of Cellar Craft Lodi Old Vines Zinfandel.
We had quite the assembly line going. My daughter-in-law, Katie, immersed the bottlesin cleaning solution for 5 minutes, and then handed them off to my son, David, who triple rinsed them in the sink. My daughter, Karen, then squirted a blast ofsulphite solution into each bottlebefore hangingit on the bottle tree to drain.
I tossed the corks into a pot of sulphite solution.
And thenintroduced my son-in-law, Buckshot, to the auto-siphon.
He remembered how hard this was last year before I got the auto-siphon, and he definitely approved.
David and Buckshot formed a two-manbottling team.
Katie wanted to try the hand corker.
But she decided she liked the floor corker better.
Karenperformed thefinal quality inspection.
And a good time was had by all.
