beer bottles and wine

I've been thinking about doing some crazier wines like hot pepper. Don't want to bottle in full 750s. 375s would be nice but are pricey to buy new. I have several cases of returnable beer bottles. The heavy duty ones they don't make any more. I was thinking that I could use these. Two questions though, can I cork these using size 8s? Inner diameter measured the same as a wine bottle, about 3/4 of an inch. If that's not recommended can I just cap them? I'm thinking 2 years max storage. Historically speaking homebrew does not last very long at my house regardless of quality...

Yeah, cap 'em. I like the green Heineken bottles for light colored wines and whites. Perfect size for summertime.
