Anyone ever use screw caps ???

Anyone ever use screw cap bottles and do you think they are better than corks?

Good luck finding the proper caps for screw top wine bottles. The ones you buy don't fit most bottles. Commercial wines that use screw tops have special machines that make the threads as they screw them on. A better way for small bottles and caps would be to use beer bottles and crown caps.

I agree with Appleman, it is near impossible to find proper caps for the screw tops wine bottles. I do use as he stated beer bottle and crown caps.


The one advantage to using caps over cork is there is no possible way to get cork taint.

When we empty liquor bottles we can reuse them for wine, saving the cap.

We have a little Wino Friend who drinks from screw top bottles...If we are around her I snag her bottles and caps.....

Figured out to use those bottles to give to people who can't or don't ever give bottles back.
