Air lock popped off

I found a air lock on the floor. It has been off a topped off carboy for about 18 hrs. Is my wine ruined? Its a cab waiting to go into a barrel. Finished clearing. Any suggestions?

No, not ruined by any means. Has happened to me on occasion as well. You just got started a few days early on your micro-ox from the barrel.

Most likely there would still be enough CO2 on the surface of the wine to prevent any oxygen from getting in. Now if it had been off 18 days, I'd start to worry about it turning to vinegar.
