...and I have the formula for a TA test that uses 0.1 naoh. I barely passed idiot level chemistry in college (seriously, I failed the 100 level course so I had to take a 090 level course). How do I change the formula I have for 0.1 solution for a 0.2 solution? Or does someone have a formula for 0.2 naoh?

Help please! My chardonnay juice from midwest arrived today and I wanted to practice with my new pH meter, which arrived today. I am picking up almost 400lbs worth of grapes and juice the first week in Sept and I will have no info on the grapes beyond a ball park brix.

thanks, Paul

TA= 75*(N of NaOH)*(Volume in ml of NaOH to get to pH of 8.2)/Sample volume in ml

In other word if it took 6 ml of 0.2 NaOH to get to a pH of 8.2 with a 15 ml sample:

TA=75*0.2*6/15
TA=6

Now you know the reason for 0.2 NaOH because however many ml of NaOH you use is the TA. No formula really needed.
