I thought I would start a thread to show the progress of my newest addition to my vineyard this year. I will be planting 300 Chardonel vines grafted on 3309 rootstock. You will see the three rows at the top of the hill that I planted last year. Those are a mixture of vines from Marquette to Cabernet Sauvignon. I'll mostly just be throwing up pictures from time to time so feel free to ask questions or make some suggestions. I will be planting the weekend of May 25th. I know its late but its the only weekend I have free.

I am using hedge post for everything, one for every three vines. Will be doing the line posts hopefully tomorrow. Irrigation will be the only wire I run this year I think. This will be a low wire vsp trellis. That is an old sheep pen that has only been used as a garden in the past year.

I have used Double A nursery both times. Great service, really flexible and always trying to help you. Plus I had 7 vines not grow last year and they are sending me replacements free of charge. Just an all around great business. If your going with a Cab, definitely speak to them about which clone will do best for you. I just started learning about the different clones and they really can make a difference
