Whats wrong with my grapevine?

Hi.
So I planted a one year old flame seedless grapevine in my garden about 6 weeks ago. Even since then it has had leaves with holes in it. Can anyone tell me what causes them? And what are these black things on the leaves? And I saw a lot of ants on the vine. Are they harmful?

Some type of chewing insect probably made the holes in the leaves. The black stuff is probably frass - insect poop from it eating the leaves. The ants don't hurt it but could be a sign there are also aphids on the vine as they farm the aphids.
