Question out of curiosity for you wine experts.... Looking at the pic above; wouldn't putting your carboy on something like a washing machine or dryer make for a longer clearing period since the washing machine will likely shake enough to cause SOME agitation in the liquid?

twas indeed a photo op, I had put it there while I took care of some homebrew beer on the counter top. It got moved back to the counter top as soon as space was available. That said, I do not put carboys on the washing machine, for a variety of reasons, including vibration. The clothes dryer does vibrate slightly, but has one possible advantage, it warms up frmo time to time - although a stationery counter top is still better, with the heat controlled by a brew-belt.
