I just started my first ever ALL JUICE Mosti Kit. I used an autosiphon to get the juice into the primary.

the Original Gravity was 1.078 at 72 degrees F.

Does this seem low?

My measurement method was to simply float the scale in the juice rather
than pull a sample in a separate jar, maybe this can affect the
measureent?

Not too worried, but wanted to ask.

That does seem low. Did you use a mix stir or just stir it with spoon as that will typically not stir it enough to get an accurate reading.

I did not stir it at all. It was All Juice, so figured I would just get
the reading prior to adding yeast and bentonite. but seemed low.

Some settling of solids will occur and this may be the reason. Possibly could be accurate but I bet it would be a little higher if stirred.

I'll buy that, good thinking. So, hopefully, the fermentation action completes the stirring for me over the next few days.
