One day the teacher was having show and tell with the class.
"Who has something they'd like to show and tell about?" she asked.
"Oh! Oh! I do! I doooo!" yelled Little Johnny from the back of the room as he waved his raised hand wildly. "I do!"
Well, having had experience with Little Johnny before, the teacher was reluctant to call on him. But when no one else raised their hand, she finally did. "OK, Johnny. What is it?"
Johnny marched up from the back of the room, took the chalk off the shelf and put a dot on the chalkboard. He put the chalk back down and turned to the teacher, beaming.
Perplexed, the teacher said, "Yes, Little Johnny, that is a period. What's the big deal with that?"
Hell if I know!" Little Johnny blurted out, "But this morning my big sister said she was missing hers, and my Mom passed out, my Dad had a heart attack, and the neighbor shot himself!"
