I use Japanese honeysuckle for wine though I've found 6 varieties on the property, vining and bush. I finally identified 4 more this week and 2 are poisonous. Be careful out there!!!!
Not all honeysuckle are edible! Be cautious and certain!

Bryan, finding the information can be extremely frustrating at times. I'm willing to eat anything from the yard if I 100% know it's safe. For example, the black honeysuckle (lonicera nigra) is an absolutely gorgeous bush and I've only seen mention of it's toxicity in one of my books, "Shrubs in the wild and in the garden" written in '95. One source is good enough for me!
I need to see the word "edible", I never make assumptions, and word of mouth never ever counts as a source.
