Anyone made any dessert wines? can you buy a kit or the infected grapes? I wanted to make a german TBA type wine

Although they will lack true noble rot from botrytis, you can buy ice wine kits. They are usually half size because the juice is so thick and syrupy ending in a sweet dessert wine. A few guys here made them last year. Search for Ice wine or Icewine and set the date select to all times(or whatever it says like that).


Here is a page of Winexpert kits- with a couple on it. Both are very good but the Riesling is probably more what you are thinking of.

I made the Island Mist riesling ice wine kit and it was way too sweet for me and my wife who likes sweet wine, I ended up mixing it with gewurztraminer to dull the sweetness. It sure didn't compare to riesling icewine I had purchased.
