New oak barrel- now red or white?

I got a new white oak barrel for Xmas but stumped on which wine to finish up in it?

Chardonnay or another white...after placing a red you can never go back to white, but after white you can always go to red

If you like Chardonnay, I highly recommend grabbing a kit and fermenting in the barrel before you run a red through. And make sure you have two or three reds ready, as the first one will only be in for a month or so.
