Mosti Mondiale MM Chardonnay

I just got my MM Riserva Chardonnay kit. I am making 1/2 of this kit for a friend of mine. I was wondering if using a different kind of oak to make this kit even better?
Anyone have any suggestions? Or just use what is in the kit??


I want it to turn out mellow and buttery.

I am going to be doing a Chard soon and already got an oak spiral. Medium oak.. I have heard good things about them.. I am going to add after first racking. Keep in mind I am a newbie, so others may know better than me..

I would like to hear what other people think though...

My inlaws got me a Vino Italiano kit from amazon.. My MIL loves chardonnays, and since it was free to me, it leaves me a little room to play around with it... The next one I get will probably be a Vinifera Noble Chard because Iam happy with how the Cab is progressing. I may go with the Riserva though depending on how you like it.

Starting the other tonight if all goes well..
