Metabisulfite smell

How long does it take for the metabisulfite smell to wear off the wine?

I did add the correct amount according to the directions

When I bottled my last batch I had added an extra serving of KMeta. I poured half a cup for tasting and after 30 minutes the smell was gone. I'm not sure how long it took that was just about how long it was from my first sniff and sip to my second. It aired out pretty quickly.
