Can someone check me because I'm not very savvy at this:
I'm making Kiwifruit Wine.
The juice measured 1.060, strained, got 1.050.
I added a bottle of Welches White Grape which was 1.070 and 1.36 litres.
My total qty is 5 litres therefore :
1.36 litres @ 1.070
3.64 litres @ 1.050
So
73% of the must is 1.050 (7% pa) = 5.11%
27% of the must is 1.070 (9.5% pa) = 2.56%
so the pa of the total 5 litres is 7.67% yes?
So to increase the pa to ~10% (my goal as JohnT says to use that for sparkling).
Need to up ~3% pa; I understand the following formula to be correct?
3g of sugar increase the pa by 0.001 in 1 litre;
I need to increase the pa by 3% pa (looking at the hydrometer thats 1.023 as a measure)
so 3g x 0.001 x 23 x 5 litres = 345g sugar.
OMG I so hope this is right; can someone check for me if I'm on the right track?
Thanks so much!
