I am making a white wine from a kit and it is in its 4th step, racking and clarification. I checked on it today and I noticed condensation at the top of the carboy where there is the free space/air. I inspected the air lock which is a rubber stopper with lock and it was actually loose and it definitely did not have a seal. I tried another stopper that I recently bought and it fits tighter and seems to seal as it should.

Do you think this batch is going to be spoiled? It was like this for 7 days....

This was a Winexpert select kit that was on the higher end so I am hoping it works out okay

Nope, it should be fine.

How much room above the wine yo the airlock?

the air is about an 1/2 an inch below the neck of the carboy. While it seems like a lot, the directions specifically say not to top off

That being the case, I do not think that you have a whole lot to worry about. You wine should be fine, but I would hit it with a dose of k-meta just to be safe.
