I'm a newbie to winemaking. I just started my first kit, a RJ Spagnols Orange Sangria Breezin' kit, on Friday. I wished I would have found this forum before I started it, but it is what it is. I began with a level of 1.053, and as I'm reading here, I know my alcohol level will be pretty low. Is there a way a week in, to raise the alcohol content, or am I just stuck with low alcohol for my first batch? I'm more of an 11 or 12% drinker. Thanks!!

A lot would depend on where you were in the fermentaiton cycle. It can be done, but as you are new to wine making, you may not want to try it at this point. If fermentation is still active, you can still add sugar but the amount you add would have to be carefully calculated. A more straigt froward approach would be to add alcohol and you have a choice between grain alcohol and vodka.
