We had a storm come through. One of my scupernoogs split at the top where the two arms meet the trunk right down the middle but only for a couple inches. I secured the vine to the trellis, held the vine together, put electrical tape around it to hold the split back together, and tied a prety tough string around it. Any sugestions would be apreciated.

Just my thoughts, You did what I would have done and I think that will work, poss. next spring trim it back to the split and let it grow new shoots.

I agree with Doug but might add some wax over the wrap for extra protection from air and water. Like a graft it might heal but keep it protected through the winter and get a new cordon started below the crack if possible just in cast.
